What Clients Say

In their own words

AK

Apinya Kasemsak

Bangkok · Will Drafting

"My situation was complicated — a second marriage, children from both, and assets in two countries. Pratheep spent a long time simply listening before he said anything. The will that came out of it is clear enough that my children can read it without difficulty. That was what I asked for, and that is what I got."

Sompong Maneerat

Chiang Mai · Consultation

"I was not ready to commit to anything formal. I just wanted to understand what my options were. The written summary I received after the meeting was genuinely useful — I have referred back to it several times. I will likely return when I am ready to proceed."

Linda Thongsuwan

Bangkok · Estate Plan

"The comprehensive plan was exactly right for us. We updated it after my husband retired, and then again after we sold the property in Phuket. Each time it was a proper review, not just a form-filling exercise. Nattaya handles our file now and is very thorough."

Wanchai Nithipat

Pattaya · Will Drafting

"I had tried to put a will together with a different firm a few years earlier and found the document difficult to follow. This time we went through it section by section until I was comfortable. The personal letter accompanying it was my wife's idea and I am glad we included it."

Pornpun Lerdchai

Bangkok · Consultation

"I appreciated that there was no pressure at the end of the meeting. I left with a clear written note of my options and no expectation of any particular next step. When I did decide to go ahead with the will, the transition was straightforward."

Rattana Kriengkrai

Bangkok · Estate Plan

"We came to moradokq after a difficult experience with our father's estate, when the absence of a proper plan caused significant delay and some disagreement within the family. The plan we put together is designed to spare our own children that difficulty. The fixed fee was also a relief — no surprise invoices."

Case Studies

How three families approached their situations

Case Study — Will Drafting

A first will, put in place after a long hesitation

The situation

A Bangkok couple in their early sixties had discussed putting a will in place for many years but had not acted on it. They had adult children and a family property outside the city. They were unsure whether a single will or separate documents would be appropriate.

What we did

We began with separate consultations for each spouse, then a joint meeting. Two separate wills were prepared, each including a plain-language section setting out the reasoning behind the arrangements made. Review took three sessions over six weeks.

The outcome

Both documents were signed and witnessed in chambers. The clients described the process as less difficult than they had expected. They were pleased to have a written record of their wishes in a form their children could read without legal assistance.

"We had put it off for ten years. Once we sat down with Pratheep it was less complicated than we had imagined."

Case Study — Estate Plan

A coordinated plan for a family with assets in two jurisdictions

The situation

A client held Thai property and a bank account in Singapore. A previous adviser had indicated that a single document might not address both adequately. The family also included a child who was a resident abroad.

What we did

We prepared a comprehensive estate plan for the Thai assets and provided a written note explaining where the Singapore holdings would need to be addressed by a local adviser. We coordinated with the Singapore-based practitioner on the interaction between the two sets of documents.

The outcome

The client now has a Thai will and estate plan supported by a Singapore-side document, with both sets of advisers having reviewed the interaction. Annual reviews are scheduled for the Thai documents. The cross-border question that had previously seemed complex was addressed without difficulty.

"The cross-border part turned out to be manageable. I am glad we started by talking it through."
